Moving up a tier

You can move to a bigger tier at any time. What it costs depends on how long you have had the licence.

Under Hardware Orders → upgrade in Click, or ask support.

What it costs

Within the first year: you pay only the difference between what you paid and the new tier's price. The money you already spent is not lost.

After the first year: you pay the new tier's full price. The original licence has by then given you a year of service, so it is not carried forward.

Click shows you the exact figure for each tier you could move to, and says plainly which of the two rules is being applied to you. There is no arithmetic to do and nothing to negotiate.

What happens when you upgrade

1. You accept the quote and pay.
2. Your old licence is invalidated straight away.
3. A fresh activation token is issued for the new tier.
4. You re-activate the same physical box with the new token.

The appliance does not change. You are not sent new hardware and you do not need to buy any. The box is simply re-paired at its new size.

The short interruption

Between the old licence being invalidated and the new token being applied, guest WiFi is down. It is a few minutes at most, and it is entirely under your control; the token waits for you.

Do it at 3am, not at check-in. There is no deadline once you have paid.

Deciding whether you need it

The clearest sign is WiFi that is only ever bad when the hotel is full. If complaints cluster on your busiest nights and vanish midweek, you are hitting the tier's device limit rather than a fault.

If you are unsure, ask support; we can look at how many devices are actually connecting at your peak and tell you whether a bigger tier would change anything. Sometimes the answer is that the internet line is the limit, not the licence, and a bigger tier would fix nothing.

Going down a tier

There is no refund for moving to a smaller tier, since the licence was bought outright. If you have shrunk the property, keep the licence you have; nothing forces you to use its full capacity.
